I have been pretty curious on what was used to program AO, but was never able to find out what it was. Any idea on what was used?

According to Camm, "The client was created using Clickteam Fusion and the server is programmed in Java (and before that Jamagic). Networking uses the MooAPI (MooGame, MooClick and MooSock) which has long since been replaced in Fusion by Lacewing." Hope that helps you and thanks for the quick info Camm.
